Lumineck is Cheongdam Chaoreum Clinic's customized neck-line treatment program.
We divide neck lines into three types by cause and treat each differently: filler for horizontal lines, botulinum toxin for thick vertical bands (platysma tension), collagen boosters for fine vertical lines (loss of elasticity), plus tightening devices when the whole neck skin has lost firmness. It is a non-surgical, non-sedation treatment that takes about 15 minutes with numbing cream only — recommended if you have cared for your face but feel your neck gives away your age.
A custom solution for
every cause and neck condition
Neck lines may look alike, but their causes differ — and so does the right treatment.
At Cheongdam Chaoreum Clinic, the consultation starts by telling these three apart.
Three types of neck lines and how we treat them
| Type | How it forms | Treatment | Products used |
| Horizontal neck lines |
Grooves formed by repeated folding of the skin, e.g. from looking down at a phone |
Fill the groove with filler |
Belotero Soft (Merz, with lidocaine) |
| Thick vertical bands |
The platysma, the broad neck muscle, tenses and contracts so it stands out like a cord |
Relax the platysma with botulinum toxin |
Xeomin, Coretox |
| Fine vertical lines |
Thin creases that appear as neck skin loses elasticity with age |
Restore elasticity with a collagen booster |
Re2O, Juvelook, GOURI |
When the whole neck has lost firmness, we add tightening devices (Ultherapy, Titanium lifting) to change the environment that lets lines return. Most people have two or three types at once, so treatments are combined.
Horizontal lines: immediate
improvement with filler
Neck skin is thin, so filler volume and placement
demand a high level of skill.
Dr. Jinho Kim is a key doctor for Belotero Soft, the filler optimized for horizontal neck lines,
and has performed more than 10,000 neck filler treatments.
Thick vertical bands: neck-muscle botulinum toxin
for lines caused by muscle contraction
A platysma stiffened by excessive tension
is improved with botulinum toxin.
Minimal injections target only the vertical bands,
without affecting neck movement.
Botulinum toxin works on thick bands caused by muscle,
but has limited effect on fine lines caused by loss of elasticity.
Fine vertical lines: collagen boosters
to restore neck skin elasticity
Collagen-stimulating boosters (Re2O, Juvelook, GOURI) are injected
into neck skin that has lost elasticity with age.
They improve fine lines and skin firmness together.
These are the vertical lines that botulinum toxin cannot smooth.
Tightening devices for
firmer, tighter neck skin in one go.
Skin that has lost elasticity is an environment
where lines form easily.
With Ultherapy and Titanium lifting we improve elasticity at the root
and tighten at the same time, changing the conditions that create neck lines.
The depth of neck lines and the reasons they form are different for everyone.
We consider the right custom solution
based on your skin elasticity and the degree of lines.

The director personally diagnoses the type (horizontal, thick vertical, fine vertical) and cause of your neck lines and designs a tailored plan.
- Preparation
Numbing cream is applied in a private single-patient room while you settle in comfortably.
- Product verification
Before treatment you check the authenticity and dose of the products yourself.
- Treatment
Experienced medical staff carry out the designed plan. It takes about 15 minutes.

Frequently asked questions
Are horizontal and vertical neck lines treated differently?
Yes. Horizontal neck lines are grooves formed by folding skin, so we fill them with filler. Vertical lines come in two kinds: thick bands that stand out when you tense are caused by platysma tension and are relaxed with botulinum toxin, while fine lines visible at rest are caused by loss of elasticity and are treated with collagen boosters. When several types coexist, treatments are combined.
I had botulinum toxin but my vertical neck lines did not smooth out. Why?
Botulinum toxin only works on thick vertical bands caused by muscle (platysma) tension. Fine vertical lines caused by reduced skin elasticity are not a muscle problem, so toxin will not smooth them — they need elasticity treatments such as collagen boosters or tightening devices. That is why we distinguish the two types during consultation.
Will neck filler look obvious?
Neck skin is thin, so injection volume and depth must be controlled precisely. We use a soft-texture filler suited to neck skin (Belotero Soft) and plan placement and amount during a 1:1 consultation, aiming for a natural result.
My neck feels lumpy after filler — is it swelling or overcorrection?
Lumpiness in the first 1–2 weeks is mostly swelling and bruising and settles with time. If a particular spot still stands out after 2 weeks, it may be overcorrection or clumping, so please have it checked at the clinic. Injecting a soft filler in small amounts at the right depth for thin neck skin reduces this risk.
Does the treatment hurt?
Numbing cream is applied beforehand and we use fillers containing lidocaine to reduce discomfort. Sensitivity varies, but the treatment is performed without sedation.
How long do results last?
For filler, about 6 months to 1 year, depending on your skin and lifestyle. Combining collagen boosters and tightening improves the skin's own elasticity, which slows the return of lines.
How much does neck-line treatment cost?
It is a non-covered (private-pay) treatment and the cost depends on the type and extent of lines and the products combined. We give an exact quote after your 1:1 consultation. You can also ask via KakaoTalk or by phone (+82-2-543-8520).
Can I go about my day right after treatment?
Yes. You may wear a scarf or turtleneck immediately, and we recommend showering after 2–3 hours. Bruising or redness may occur and usually settles within 1–2 weeks.
